All the EOI profiles are then assigned a score with a maximum score of 1000 points. These points are awarded based on the human capital factors and their connection to the province.

Candidates can show their connection to the province through previous work experience in the province, close family ties, or an invitation through one of Manitoba’s strategic recruitment initiatives.

International students who have graduated from an education institution in the province can also apply for provincial nomination through the International Education stream if they have skills that are in demand in the province.

Express Entry is the primary means used by Canada to manage requests for skilled workers. You can also apply for provincial nomination through the federal government’s Express entry program.

Not all people who are well suited to the Manitoba job market will have a high Express Entry score. Enter the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Through PNPs, provinces can select skilled workers from the federal government’s express entry pool for provincial nomination. Provincial nominees are automatically awarded 600 points for their overall score, giving them a sure chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.
