166 Immigrating candidates invited in the latest BC PNP draw

British Columbia conducted a new draw, inviting 166 candidates through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). 

The May 10 draw issued invitations across four different categories.

• 126 Skilled Workers and International Graduates with a minimum score of at least 85 received invitations through the BC PNP Tech stream. 
• 20 Skilled Workers, International Graduates, and Entry-level & Semi-Skilled Workers in the Healthcare industry with a minimum score of 62 points were also issued invitations in a targeted draw. 
• 20 Skilled Workers and International Graduates immigrating as Early Childhood Educators (NOC 4214) with a minimum score of 62 points were issued invitations in another targeted draw.
• “Less than 5” Entry-level & Semi-Skilled Workers immigrating as Healthcare Assistants (NOC 3413) with a minimum score of 62 points were issued the final invitations in a targeted draw.

About the BC PNP

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is designed to attract foreign skilled workers that are in high demand in the province – who seek to become permanent residents of Canada. 

There are two key streams offered by the BC PNP: Skills Immigration and Express Entry. Both of which are divided into further sub-categories and are managed under British Columbia’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). 

You will first be required to register an account if you plan on applying under the SIRS. Once this is done, you will be assigned a certain score based on human capital, skills transferability, and additional factors. Such factors usually include Age, Education, Work Experience, Language Proficiency, Adaptability, and such. 

The highest-scoring candidates in each of the sub-categories are then invited to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residency through a British Columbia draw. 

If you manage to secure a provincial nomination from BC, you will now have 30 days from the date of invitation to submit a complete application through the BC PNP online portal. 

You will be notified of the province’s decision once they have audited your application. This process usually takes anywhere between 2 and 3 months. If approved, you will be eligible to apply to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Canadian permanent residency under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). 

This nomination is valid for 6 months from the date of confirmation.
